The Whale Center of New England (WCNE) scientific staff and interns have been conducting research, and publishing scientific papers, involving the whales, dolphins, and seals of New England and their marine environment since the Whale Center's inception in 1979. Through many years of hard work, scientific data has been gathered and analyzed to better our understanding of the whales and how they are affected by their surroundings. This scientific information can lead to better protection for the whales and their habitat along with increasing our understanding of whales in general. All of these studies are conducted by our staff, interns and various colleagues throughout the entire whale community. Our bibliography shows how the Whale Center has been on the forefront of whale research by publishing primary research papers. Funding for these projects is provided by corporations, environmental groups, private donations and from people like you. If you have any questions, or would like to learn more about what we do just drop us a line at our e-mail address. |
