| Humpback whales are famous, and unique, for using their exhalation bubble clouds (light green water) to concentrate small prey fish. But seagulls use the whales to help feed themselves. |
As the whale filters water out through its baleen after gulping fish and water, gulls trail behind picking off fish managing to escape from the whale's mouth. |

| Occasionally we see gulls actually land on the snout of a filtering humpback whale (as one appears to be attempting here). It probably makes a good vantage point for spotting small fish. |
After the filtering is complete, and the bubble cloud has dissipated, the whale prepares to dive again to repeat the sequence, and the birds will hover above watching for the next bubble cloud. |
